To start the course off, let’s set the scene with a look at what we’re going to be covering, and why…
So this is what we’re going to be covering in this course:
- Wind and weather knowledge
- How to use and interpret weather forecasts
- Tides and other currents
- Understanding surf
- Water quality & Temperature
- Putting it all together
- The SUP SAFE code
You don’t need to work through the lessons in the exact order they’re presented, (ie. if you want to jump ahead and read about currents, etc), although it’s generally best to stick to the order within the specific topics, as some of the information does definitely follow through from one lesson to the next.
So, we’ll start the learning in the next lesson by taking a good look at wind strength – a massively important factor in determining both your safety and your enjoyment during a paddleboarding session.
Spotted a fault or inaccuracy in this lesson, something we’ve missed out or you’d like more info on?
Please don’t hesitate to contact us! We can’t guarantee to be able to answer all questions, but we’ll do our best to try…
